Stars of Hope for Waukesha
Community Art Therapy in the wake of the Christmas Parade Tragedy
WATA’s Social Action Committee has been present with the Waukesha community through the Comfort and Joy Ornament Project, created as an art therapy first response in the aftermath of the violent and tragic events of November 21, 2021. Messages of support and solidarity were written and drawn on ornaments which now adorn Healing Trees in businesses throughout the parade route and Downtown Waukesha area.
As Waukesha continues to grow in strength and preparation for future parades and celebrations of life, we are setting the intention to illuminate the downtown with thousands of colorful stars. Broken Mirror Healing will host more workshops to make 3D paper stars. Stars of Hope USA will be partnering with WATA provide a space to make painted wooden stars in conjunction with these Upcoming Events:
